Hello there! Thank you for visiting my website.
Let me introduce myself. I am based in Kyiv, Ukraine. I became an illustrator when I was 32, after working for many years in an international human rights organization. This choice was not an easy one for many reasons. From feeling too old to catch up with established professionals and the young talent to thinking it is a pointless thing to do in the middle of the full-scale invasion of my country.
But here I am, against all odds.
My work is an extension of my beliefs, and I believe in the free world. That's why I am always passionate about change-making projects. Whether you are an NGO, a newspaper covering an important topic, or a brand that wants to make a difference, I would be happy to use my work for a good cause.
The other side of me, the kid, is passionate about popular culture: books, music, films, and comics. I love to connect with other works of art, interpret them, to create my illustrations. I would be happy to work on book covers, vinyl sleeves, film posters, and everything in between!
If you have any projects in mind, please contact me at maxim.filipenko@gmail.com
I would be happy to hear from you!
Best wishes,
Maksym
